Terms of Service

If you downloaded FilmSchool from the App Store, your license to use the app is Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These Terms are an addendum to that license — additional terms specific to FilmSchool, including the subscription disclosures below. Where Apple’s Standard EULA and these Terms overlap on app-store distribution mechanics, Apple’s Standard EULA controls; for everything else, including subscriptions, cancellation, and acceptable use, these Terms control.

By creating an account, continuing as a guest, or using FilmSchool, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

FilmSchool Premium unlocks the full daily-puzzle archive, unlimited study (no daily meter), and removes ads and tracking (there are none of either to begin with). Premium is offered as the following products, all billed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system:

• FilmSchool Premium — Monthly

  $4.99 / month

  Auto-renewing subscription

  No free trial.

• Founding Member — Lifetime

  $49.99 once

  One-time purchase, not a subscription

  Non-renewing, limited to the first 500 purchasers while the offer is open.

Prices are in U.S. dollars and may vary by App Store territory and currency; the price and terms you’re actually charged are the ones shown in the App Store’s purchase confirmation sheet at the time you buy.

Auto-renew terms.Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The Annual and Monthly subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price for the plan you selected. Subscriptions are managed, and auto-renewal may be turned off, in your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase — see “Managing or canceling” below. The Founding Member lifetime purchase is a one-time charge and never renews.

The Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, one trial per Apple ID, as disclosed on the paywall before purchase. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid Annual subscription at $29.99/year and your Apple ID is charged. We send a reminder notification two days before the trial ends if you’ve allowed it; you can also check your trial end date any time in Profile → Premium in the app.

The Founding Member product is a non-consumable, one-time purchase — not a subscription, and not auto-renewing. It’s capped at the first 500 purchasers; once the cap is reached, the offer is removed from the paywall. It grants lifetime Premium access and the Founding Member badge.

You can cancel an Annual or Monthly subscription any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — there’s no partial refund for the unused portion, and no in-app penalty for canceling.

• On your device: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → FilmSchool Premium → Cancel Subscription.
• In the app: Profile → Premium → Manage Subscription, which opens the same Apple sheet.

Because subscriptions are billed and managed entirely by Apple, we can’t cancel or refund a subscription on your behalf from our side.

All FilmSchool purchases go through Apple’s In-App Purchase system, so refunds are handled by Apple under its own refund policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.

Use FilmSchool for its intended purpose — learning about film. Don’t attempt to circumvent the study meter, archive lock, or purchase flow; don’t scrape, resell, or redistribute the catalog content; don’t use the service in a way that disrupts it for other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

You’re responsible for the account you sign in with (Google) or the guest session you create. Your study progress, streaks, and badges belong to you and are deleted when you delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. The catalog content, game designs, and FilmSchool branding are ours; film titles, credits, posters, and stills are sourced from TMDB under its API terms.

FilmSchool is provided “as is.” We work to keep the catalog accurate and the games running, but we don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, FilmSchool isn’t liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app; our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any.

If we change these Terms, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change meaningfully affects your subscription or how the service works, we’ll say so prominently in the app or on the site before it takes effect.
